Close to Porto City Hall, FC Porto's former headquarters will be turned into a charm hotel.

The remodelling of the old Head Office of FC Porto, located at Praça General Humberto Delgado will give way to a boutique hotel, an investment of 2.8 million euros, related to the FC Porto brand.

The launching ceremony for the project took place this morning, and it was attended by Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto and Pinto da Costa, President of FC Porto.

The regeneration project for a charm hotel includes 54 guest rooms, a restaurant and a bar, close to FC Porto sports world, whose opening is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.

The Mayor of Porto welcomed the sports club decision to "value this iconic building".
"This is an emblematic building of the city and of FC Porto. And this will be a building that continues to be an FC Porto building that suits the city's needs", Rui Moreira declared.

"The renovation and rehabilitation of buildings in the city is key and they should meet the new habits of Porto. In the same way that once there were clinics, banks, insurance companies, today there are hotels and other services that demonstrate that the city of Porto is well alive and capable of interpreting what citizens want, which is to have a vibrant city and its emblematic buildings rehabilitated. And in this case, this renovation is not done at the expense of the State, of the City Hall and of the tax payer", Mayor of Porto enthused.

Rui Moreira added that this refurbishment "dignifies the city and safeguards heritage values".

FC Porto President said that this is a 20-year concession to Lúcios Engenharia e Construção and that the building remains in the ownership of FC Porto.

Pinto da Costa also recalled the endless FC Porto victories that were celebrated in that building and stated that "today we mark the beginning of a construction that will honour the city of Porto".
