Vinho Verde Wine Fest begins today in Porto

The 2018 edition of the Vinho Verde Wine Fest which is by and large "the greatest investment ever made", as stated by the Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region, starts today and will run till 15th July, at the Customs Building, in Porto.

More than 300 wines by 33 producers will be available for tasting.

 The "biggest Vinho Verde Wine Fest in the World" features workshops, sensorial tastings, motorbikes and classic cars showcases, music and workshops for the younger age group, among other activities.

The producers of the Vinho Verde Region will showcase new vintages and a portfolio of white, red and rosé wines, as well as sparkling wines, available for tasting and pairing with the six restaurants represented at the event.

The festival also features leisure activities, with DJ guests, contests and many surprises.

Saturday, 14th July, is especially prepared to welcome families, and children are admitted at the festival at no charge. Also on 14th July, there will be a motorbike exhibition at the Customs parking and Sunday, 15th July, classic cars will parade alongside the riverfront area, in the morning.
