Punk is not dead and it awaits at the U.Porto

From London to Tokyo, two photo exhibitions devoted to the punk universe are on display at the Casa Comum, in the Rectory. The exhibits are entrance free and can be visited until 31 August.

The U. Porto Museum Patio: a space fit for cultural life and contemplation

From 20 to 25 July, the Noites no Pátio do Museu [“Evenings at the Museum’s Patio”, free translation], invite for timeless cultural activities such as poetry, documentary film, theatre and so much more that participants can unveil at the Patio of the Central Pole of the Natural History Museum of the University of Porto, in the Rectory (MHNC-UP). Participation is free, upon prior seat reservation.

Digital Days: the gateway to the digital talent made in U. Porto

Student of the U.Porto wins the gold medal at the Acrobatic Gymnastics world championship

Student and gymnast, Rita Ferreira, of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), won the gold medal, the first ever for Portugal, of the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championship that took place in Geneva, Switzerland.

Poetry escape to find the meaning of effective listening

On 8 and 22 July, the Pateo of the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto there will be two sessions, respectively, that will be a joy to discover. One in every four Portuguese scientific papers is made in U.Porto

Between 2015 and 2019, the University of Porto was in charge or participated in 23. 8% of all scientific papers of Portuguese scientific institutions. This conclusion is based on the results provided by the Web of Science – WoS (SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI e A&HCI), a database that is at the heart of the Web of Science platform and provides access to thousands of bibliographic references on high level of editorial rigor journals, in several areas.

Porto University Choral Society Annual Soirée happens on 3 July

Porto University Choral Society performs its 78th Annual Soirée on 3 July, at 6 pm, at the Círculo Católico de Operários do Porto. All artistic groups that are part of the Orfeão (Choral Society) will take to the stage to present their cultural and ethnographic work variation to the Academia and to the city.

Round table on the new degree on AI and Data Science organised by the FCUP and the FEUP

The FCUP and the FEUP will debate the state of play regarding the new degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Round Table gathers on 21 June and joins several experts, from companies and from the academia, to answer questions such as “what are the needs of companies operating in these domains?”, “who are the experts that work in the field of AI and Data Science?”. The Round Table starts at 4.30 pm, at the FCUP’s Library and will be streamlined live via the FCUP YouTube channel.
