Fun and food at the City Park on 7 and 8 July

The coming weekend, 7 and 8 July, the City Park will play host to the second edition of Festival da Comida Continente. Aimed at families, this event is entrance free. This is a joyful and entertaining way of celebrating the summer season, where chefs Hélio Loureiro, Manuel Almeida, Justa Nobre, Rui Paula, Chakall and Anna Lins will create mouth-watering new taste sensations and also cook the traditional Portuguese dishes.

The festival that celebrates food is back in town on 7 and 8 June, at the City Park. This event kicks off the "summer is in Porto" programme and it is sponsored by Continente. Save the date in your agenda and invite family and friends as entrance is free.

Fridays and Saturdays offer public transport that suits all needs

MOVE PORTO metro 24H during the weekend is back. Nonstop public transport guarantees night service in Porto every Friday and Saturday from 28 June until 7 October. This is the fifth consecutive year of such initiative, themed MOVE Porto Metro 24H that guarantees Subway service all night long on Friday and Saturday.

São João was celebrated all over town by happy people

The streets of Porto were filled with joy and excitement to celebrate the Patron Saint, and every plaza and every street corner served dances, broiled sardines, "caldo verde" (Typical Portuguese soup) topped with cascades and happy people.

The night of 22nd June offers traditional parade in Avenida dos Aliados

Save this date in your agenda: the 22nd June, the city celebrates the patron saint - São João- with the traditional dancing and singing parade, the "rusgas", in which each city parish dresses in a traditional costume and performs folklore dancing.

Folklore dancing enlivens the city Saturday afternoon

As is tradition during the celebrations of the São João, there will be folklore dancing in Porto, scheduled to start at 3 pm. The folklore groups will departure from several sites in the city, and nine folkdance groups will enliven the city with cheerful music and good vibes. The groups will parade through the city main streets and avenues in downtown Porto, and everyone's invited to celebrate the patron saint of the city, São João.
