December is the time for street markets and fairs everywhere in town

December is the time to partake the holiday feeling on the streets and squares in Porto. Nearly 30 different events invite you to take part in all kinds of entertainment with family and friends. In addition to the usual programmes, the city also offers initiatives to celebrate this time of year.

Ice rinks comeback for Christmas

The ice skating rinks will open at 6 pm. The rinks are located at D. João I Square and at the Boavista Roundabout, where the Fantasy Square will bring a fairy-tale quality to Porto in this holiday season. The time of year to be merry is just around the corner. If tradition is your thing, ice-skating is a must-do. What could be more fun than gliding like swans on ice?

Regional cuisine and music is the menu offered at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal

Gastronomic suggestions from different regions of the country and concerts are part of the "We love our cuisine with Coca-Cola" festival's menu that starts today and closes Sunday, 19 November in the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. A tent was installed in front of Rosa Mota Pavilion to host the third edition of the said festival.

Christmas lightings are switched on 1 December at Avenida dos Aliados

Christmas lightings in Porto will be switched on 1 December at 5.30 pm. As usual, the occasion will be marked in Avenida dos Aliados, when the Christmas tree will be lit at General Humberto Delgado Square, in front of Town Hall and thus the holidays officially begin. As in the last two years, the City Hall marks this date with an open celebration at Avenida dos Aliados.

The cultural event "Serões da Bonjóia" will feature a fado session under the Arts Cycle. The Fado Porto Club will perform at Quinta da Bonjóia, 12 October starting at 9.15 pm. The entrance is free.

Porto Water Innovation Week ends on a high note with Aquaporto Festival in the City Park

More than 1500 children enjoyed the Aquaporto Festival, promoted by municipal company Águas do Porto. This is the 4th Edition of this water festival, which kicked-off at 10 am, next to the Water pavilion, in the City Park and will run till 30 September. Participation is free.
