This summer, blue flags are swaying in all beaches in Porto.Porto Coastal area is granted the Blue Flag quality seal as all its nine beaches were awarded this eco-label in recognition of their quality standards.

the gardens of Palácio de Cristal are open as of today, 1st June. This won't feel like a picnic in the park, as yet; however, even if people have to comply with certain rules amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it will surely uplift the soul and the senses, for that matter.

The Water Pavilion, managed by the municipal company Águas do Porto, reopens doors this 4th June, with new rules regarding safety under the ongoing pandemic. Visits are available by way of a prior appointment, with temperature measurement upon arrival to the facility and the mandatory use of a face mask, when entering the building.

The Municipal Environment teams of Porto City Hall are developing online educational programes. This is a good way to learn more about what surrounds us, namely plants and animals. This way, we can all keep close to nature and animals in such harsh time, due to the pandemic.

Porto Municipal services of Environment launched three series of Environmental Education programmes on Youtube. The focus is the initiative "Stay home for now, we bring Nature to you!"

All the energy input in the Municipality of Porto and major municipal companies will be from a 100% renewable source. One of the main pillars of governance in Porto is sustainability and the Municipal Executive is in place to procure public tenders that promote energy supply from a renewable source.

This will be the 25th edition of the Camellias celebration in Porto, for the first time hosted at Porto Customs, on 7th and 8th March. All activities are access free.

The Gallery of Biodiversity- Living Science Centre opens a cycle of debate on environmental sustainability and biodiversity this 6th February, at 9.30pm. Entrance is free, but subject to room capacity.
