BUS (STCP) adjusts service offer starting 22nd March

STCP bus fleet in Porto will adjust its service offer as of this Monday, 22nd March, to accommodate the increase in demand, as pre-school, kindergarten and elementary schools are open, as are some commercial activities, following the government’s phased easing of restrictions. Weekend Bus services run under the “Contingency Timetable” and Historic tram service will remain suspended until 5th April.

Formosa and Alexandre Braga streets are open to public transport circulation

The streets of Formosa and Alexandre Braga, which were closed to traffic since 25th January, owing to the works at the Bolhão Market ancient building, are now open. Also, this was the day that a gigantic canvas was placed all around the working site of Bolhão, depicting all the familiar faces of Bolhão traders.

Gate open: Ryanair announces Porto – Bremen new route and resumes operations starting 28th March

Airliners are resuming operations owing to the easing of pandemic restrictions. Porto International Airport, Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport will see Ryanair flying again, starting on 28th March. This announcement follows the latest news by Turkish Airlines that it will resume operations to and from Porto by the end of March, as well.

Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Porto

Turkish Airlines resumes the Istanbul-Porto route on 29th March, with four weekly flights. The route had been suspended in the beginning of the pandemic.

Taxi trips to vaccination sites are available to all residents as of today

Starting today, 9th March, the Municipality of Porto supports taxi rides in town to transport the elderly to and from vaccination centres, namely the Health Centres in the Western and Eastern part of the city. This cooperation agreement was concluded with the two taxi shuttles operating in the city. Taxi fares are two euros per one-way trip, and round-trips are 4 euros. This measure had already been announced by Mayor Rui Moreira on 22nd February, during the Municipal Executive meeting.

Streets at Foz Velha received new handrails to pedestrian accessibility

New handrails are in place in Foz Velha. This endeavour’s main goal was to improve pedestrian accessibility, under the Municipality of Porto accessibilities mobility plan. Residents and visitors coming and going in the streets of Foz Velha now have new street equipment that will make their lives easier.

Porto Airport ranks Best European Airport as regards Best Hygiene Measures under COVID-19 response

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is listed a Best European Airport as regards Covid-19 response, based on the views of customers in 2020, by Airports Council International (ACI) that revealed this year’s Airport Service Quality awards.

STCP (BUS) adjusts service offer on weekends

STCP bus fleet in Porto will adjust its service offer on weekends, as has happened on business days, to accommodate the measures taken under the renovation of the State of Emergency. The “Contingency Timetable” enters into force on 27th February, and will remain in place as long as the restriction measures of this second confinement are in force, namely the ban on movement in public areas and roads, and between districts, after 5 pm.
