Porto has been elected as the third best city in Europe to be explored on foot, according to the British blog Preply.

The Linha Retoma Desporto is launched by the third year in a row by Porto City Hall, through the Ágora, and is reinforcing the number of sports entities that will benefit from the municipal incentive, with the increase of the total allocated support.

Last Thursday, the Terminal Intermodal de Campanhã (TIC) celebrates its first year of activity with more than five million passengers (from July 2022 until July 2023), distributed between 630 schedules, 11 operators, and 58 final destinations.

Porto City Hall will move forward, joined by UNESCO, with an application for World Culture Heritage to the pipe organs of the churches of the city. They are a set of instruments, spread among many temples, of great complexity and with an impressive artistic and constructive beauty.

The Municipality of Porto will implement a network of priority routes for soft mobility options that will cover about 30 kilometres of streets. In many cases, it will establish a maximum speed of 20km/hour for vehicles circulating, and the priority for pedestrians and soft mobility options, in a concept of shared public space.

Established in 2019, Porto Ambiente’s environmental awareness pioneering service, with teams which identify infringements related to the violation of the rules of deposition and conditioning of waste, ditching waste on public roads, amongst others, has already taken on, since its foundation and up until now, more than 12.600 campaigns, including six thousand visits to commercial establishments in the city.

Stars of American Ballet, Zsolt Bognar, and Lara Downes, considered the “Classical Woman of the Year” in 2022 by Performance Today, are some of the names that are booked for the concerts and dynamics of the 8th edition of the Porto Pianofest, which will take place from the 1st to the 9th of August.

Considered the world’s biggest academic event on technological and digital entrepreneurship, the European Innovation Academy (EIA) returns to Porto as the city it has chosen to, until 2026, inspire students from the world’s top 50 universities to create new business ideas. The doors of innovation will be opened from the July 17th until August 4th.

Between the 13th and 16th of July, the 11th edition of Porta-Jazz ao Relento takes place at Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. The entrance is free.

The outcome of the developed work, in partnership with Domus Social, will remain in Praça da Alegria until the 23rd.
