Porto state schools students of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education directed two films in the context of the Municipal Educational Programme Porto de Crianças [Porto of Children, free translation], which have been selected for two international festivals. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work carried out by state schools in Porto.

The Theatre Campo Alegre new cinema season is devoted to the French Cinema and the Grand Masters of film (1930-1960). If you got longer than a weekend in Porto, prepare to get comfy at Theatre Campo Alegre, as for forty days, from 1 September till 10 October.

The city of Porto will be represented in the 3rd edition of the Portugal Real Estate Summit, which takes place in Estoril, as of this afternoon. InvestPorto is the entity from the city of Porto to showcase the municipal strategy, regarding talent attraction.

Casa da Música hosts a concert cycle themed Fantasia, from 18 till 29 September. The cycle includes five concerts, and the repertoire will explore the works by Anderson, Bach, Moreira, Beethoven and Kurtag. The opening concert is scheduled for 18 September, with Remix Ensemble Casa da Música scheduled to perform at 7.30 pm.

Porto Tennis Club will play host to the International wheelchair Tennis Tournament, from 18 to 22 September. The event is included in the ITF Futures Series, and it gathers 32 athletes from eight different nationalities, singles and pairs, namely Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Finland and England.

Queer Porto is back in Rivoli from 10 to 14 October. This is the 4th edition of this International Cinema Festival and the main guest is the American writer Dennis Cooper, who will attend the festival to present the film "Permanent Green Light" that he has co-directed with Zac Farley. The festival's organization also highlights Carolee Schneemann's Film Paintings, a range of eclectic documentaries on how the Queer culture has impacted the fashion industry, the Mont de Dutor and Liad Hussein...

Portugal Fashion and ModaLisboa agreed on an understanding that set up the landmark agreement that will benefit both designers and Portuguese fashion industry. This protocol marked the end of the "back to back" living in fashion terms in the country. The cooperation agreement defines that designers and fashion shows work together, for added value services and products, starting this October with the joint Fashion Week.

The Portuguese Women in Tech Awards (PWIT) is a project aimed at awarding leading female experts in the tech panel, within the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Poveiros Square presents the shortest performance of the I Porto International Circus Festival. The Toron Blues Company features "Rouge", a 15 minute act, short but intense, created and performed by Clémentine Lamouret and Elsa Caillat. The streets will also be enlivened by the Portuguese Company Marimbondo, the only one to perform a "Show in motion".
