Students from Porto author animated films that are eligible for international festivals

Porto state schools students of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education directed two films in the context of the Municipal Educational Programme Porto de Crianças [Porto of Children, free translation], which have been selected for two international festivals. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work carried out by state schools in Porto.

Fantasia Cycle at Casa da Música gives you heart-stirring enthusiasm

Casa da Música hosts a concert cycle themed Fantasia, from 18 till 29 September. The cycle includes five concerts, and the repertoire will explore the works by Anderson, Bach, Moreira, Beethoven and Kurtag. The opening concert is scheduled for 18 September, with Remix Ensemble Casa da Música scheduled to perform at 7.30 pm.

Porto plays host to International wheelchair Tennis Tournament

Porto Tennis Club will play host to the International wheelchair Tennis Tournament, from 18 to 22 September. The event is included in the ITF Futures Series, and it gathers 32 athletes from eight different nationalities, singles and pairs, namely Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Finland and England.

Queer Porto is back in October featuring Dennis Cooper

Queer Porto is back in Rivoli from 10 to 14 October. This is the 4th edition of this International Cinema Festival and the main guest is the American writer Dennis Cooper, who will attend the festival to present the film "Permanent Green Light" that he has co-directed with Zac Farley. Landmark agreement in the Portuguese Fashion Industry

Portugal Fashion and ModaLisboa agreed on an understanding that set up the landmark agreement that will benefit both designers and Portuguese fashion industry. This protocol marked the end of the "back to back" living in fashion terms in the country. The cooperation agreement defines that designers and fashion shows work together, for added value services and products, starting this October with the joint Fashion Week.

The New Circus walks the streets of Porto till Sunday
