TAP has announced new routes and the opening of previously cancelled routes from Porto International Airport, as is the case of Barcelona and Milan, starting in 2018.
Second largest porcelain Christmas tree on display at MMIPO
Five meters high and 2.5 tonnes weight, the porcelain Christmas tree by Vista Alegre is on show at the Misericórdia do Porto Museum (MMIPO). The exhibit is on show till 14th January 2018.
Tourist tax will be used to mitigate the impact of tourism in the city of Porto
The Municipal Tourist Tax, which Porto shall apply from March 2018, and that was approved by the City Council this week, shall not be used for investment in tourism. This commitment was reaffirmed by Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto, on 20 December, at a press conference at Porto City Hall.
Clérigos Tower is open for night tours
Up for a night adventure? These days, the Clérigos Tower, one of the most visited monuments in the city of Porto is open for night tours. Visitors will have the chance of appreciating the light-filled city at 75 metres high, from 7 pm to 11 pm, till December 30, except on December 24 and 25.

University of Porto achieves UNESCO Chair for environmental protection in Africa
Porto University (U.Porto) is the holder of UNESCO Chair for environmental protection of projects in Africa, as announced in U.Porto news website. This Chair relates to the development of a collaborative network of research and education projects in six African countries in the fields of biodiversity conservation and the management of natural resources and natural heritage.
