The Porto Climate Pact was presented, last Monday, during the public meeting of the Executive – an initiative through which the municipality intends to bring society together in a commitment to ambitious goals with regard to carbon neutrality.

Inaugurated in 2019, the Ramalde Skate Park had a new intervention, with the aim of increasing its area and providing the space with new technical facilities for the practice of the sport. An investment of around 300 thousand euros, 140 thousand euros applied now, and other 150 thousand euros invested in the initial construction. The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, visited the facilities this Saturday morning.

The city’s Historic Centre will receive a shot of new blood with the opening of a university residence, in a building owned by Port City Hall, in Bainharia Street. The management of the facilities will be shared between the City Hall, Federação Académica do Porto (FAP) and the University of Porto.

Between 15th and 18th of March 2022, the Municipality of Porto will meet investors at MIPIM, one of the world’s largest real estate fairs, and will bring several investment prospects to Cannes, aiming to foster the city’s competitiveness, innovation and talent.

The public’s vote will serve to deliver the International People’s Choice Award, attributed by the same entity responsible for the coordination of the Green Flag Award, and there are three green spaces in Porto in the running for the award.

Room 2 of Casa da Música will open its doors to international experts in the area of architecture who, between the 3rd and 5th of February, will seek to promote new sustainable approaches that enable the reduction of the impact of construction in the environment, using technology.

The City and the University of Porto give the go ahead to differentiated projects for three new university student dorms, which will give the city students 270 more beds.

The winners of the 19th edition of the João de Almada Award, created by Porto City Hall to encourage and promote the rehabilitation of the city’s architectural heritage, awarding every two years the best examples of good practice in this area, have already been chosen.

Under the motto “500 anos da Rua das Flores”, 24 electricity distribution boxes greet the new year with new colours.

“Architecture ” is part of a set of 22 videos that the city of Porto is launching to promote and value the city.
