38th edition of Fantasporto starts today at Rivoli

The 38th edition of Fantasporto opens today with the national preview of "El Secreto de Marrowbone" (Spain, 2017) by Sergio Sanchez, starting at 9.15 pm at Rivoli's Grand Auditorium.

In 1969, following the passing of their mother, four siblings hide in Marrowbone, an abandoned manor in the middle of rural America, hoping for a fresh start. However, the walls hide a dreadful secret.

The release for the general public of this English-language Spanish drama horror thriller film, written and directed by Sergio G. Sánchez is scheduled for 1 March.

It was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on 11 September 2017 and it was released in Spain on 27 October 2017, by Universal Pictures.

The festival runs till 4 March, all sessions taking place at Rivoli. The film competition will happen on 23 February, with the screening of "Anna Karenina: Vronsky's Story", by Karen Shakhnazarov.

The closing session will be on 3 March with the presentation of "Le Fidèle", by Michael R. Roskam.

Fantasporto presents a growing international prestige and features nearly 120 films from more than sixty countries.

This edition includes the sessions "Gothic films, Directors' week, Orient Express and Portuguese Cinema".
