"The Guitar Man" by Jon Fosse, directed and interpreted by Manuel
Wiborg, is on stage at Carlos Alberto Theatre until July 16.

The play, which marks the National Theatre São
João end of the season, tells the story of a 50-year-old man, bitter with life circumstances
that recalls his childhood dream: to be a guitar player.

As Manuel Wiborg says: "This play shows the declining of a
man who has given upon his dreams and ambitions".

The Stage Director further adds that "this is a circumstance
that is recurrent within the artistic community, mostly, but it also applies to
any profession due to the economic crisis".

Wibor also explains that he has chosen a text by Jon Fosse
because he "writes as a musician, he writes plays as a musician writes songs"
and that his plays depict "real people, ordinary people and not kings".
