A taste of future with the next food generation in Porto

The ECOTROPHELIA Portugal 2019 prize giving ceremony is held in Porto on 21 May, at Porto Customs Building. The winner will represent the country in the European Final, which takes place in Cologne, Germany, next October.
Since inception, in 2000 in Spain, ECOTROPHELIA is now a network of training excellence in food innovation, mobilising higher education institutions and national federations of food industries all over Europe, by promoting entrepreneurship and competitiveness within the European food industry.
"The Student Awards of Food Innovation" is a great platform for innovation and inspiration for the food industry, as it is a major catalyst for learning and training, developing a culture of curriculum innovation, and working as a "real ideas" incubator for the food sector.
In 10 years' time, ECOTROPHELIA mobilized a hundred marketed products.
ECOTROPHELIA Portugal 2019 edition involved over 100 students of 11 Higher Education Institutions. Among the 20 finalist products, the best 10 ideas were chosen to network with the food industry.
ECOTROPHELIA Portugal 2019 is promoted by PortugalFoods, under the high patronage of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Portugal.
