All days are good shopping days at Bolhão Temporary Market

All days are good days to score sales at Bolhão Temporary Market (MtB). However, Saturdays offer shoppers extended operating hours, making shopping easier as hundreds of clients head to the market over the weekend.

The first Saturday following the closing of the Bolhão Market building for structural renovation works and the opening of the Temporary Market located at La Vie Shopping Centre, just across the street, has proven a success as it suits both shoppers and traders with extended running hours. Previously, the market would close at 1 pm but currently it closes at 6 pm.

The MtB has opened barely a week ago and it is already becoming ingrained in people's daily lives in the city of Porto.

The city responded positively to Mayor of Porto's appeal to help the City Hall and traders go forward with this endeavour. Rui Moreira has called for everyone's support and contribution during the renovation of the Bolhão Market.

Thousands of people, nationals and foreigners, have visited the temporary location of Bolhão market in Porto, located at La Vie Shopping Centre, a two-hundred steps journey from the iconic building, undergoing a two-year period of refurbishing works.

The hustle and bustle is alive! For hours, shoppers would come and go, buying and chatting. This is proof that the municipal strategy has yielded fruits.

The first day of the Temporary Bolhão Market was marked by the visit of the President of the Republic and the Mayor of Porto. Thousands joined the inauguration. Thousands more showed up in the days following the official opening.

It is worth mentioning that buying in Bolhão Temporary Market confers the right to gifts, handy items such as kitchenware and reusable shopping bags. Per each daily shopping, one can go to the stand (plainly marked on site) and have his/hers booklet stamped. Each shopping session is worth one stamp per day.
