The São Lourenço Church - aka Church of the Grilos - marks today the 350 years since the birth of Baroque master François Couperin (1668-1733), in a recital that gathers world-class artists.

Starting at 7 pm, the sopranos Orlanda Velez Isidro and Eduarda Melo, as well as Ludovice Ensemble, featuring Sofia Diniz at viola da Gamba and Fernando Miguel Jalôto playing the organ, perform the piece "Trois leçons des Ténèbres" by French composer, organist and harpsichordist Couperin Le Grand.

Leçons de ténèbres, literally translated lessons of darkness, is applied allegorically to the three days of mourning for Christ between his crucifixion and resurrection.

This event is access free and also marks the 20th anniversary of the organ restauration.
