The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) is hosting the eighth edition of the Bioengineering Symposium, this year under the motto "Solving Tomorrow, Today". Registrations are already open.

The Bioengineering Students Association, organises, since 2010, the Symposium on Bioengineering. The panel of speakers features world-class experts, not only from the Academia but also from the Entrepreneurial world.

The main purpose of this conference is to showcase the most recent and innovative projects with biomedical and biological applications.

This year's edition is themed "Solving Tomorrow, Today", focusing on aggregating three major branches of Bioengineering, namely, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering and Molecular Biotechnology.

Regarding Biological Engineering, the program includes presentations on marine biotechnology and solutions inspired by the sea; white biotechnology will also be addressed by showing the distinct possibilities regarding the application of microorganism in a productive way.

In regard to Biomedical Engineering, the Symposium intends to show the innovations on assistive technology and biomechanics, as well as in big data analysis and modelling systems based on human behaviour and emotions.

In respect to Molecular Biotechnology, the programme focuses on biohacking and gene editing; furthermore, the new models that are being used to study organs and systems, such as organ on a chip and organoids.

Portugal is the platform for venturing further afield in this world of discoveries, where networking with different projects and mindsets from different areas from the globe are key for the future of Life Sciences and Technology.
