It is Carnival season at Bolhão Temporary Market and there will be carnival activities to display imagination on the topic of fishmonger's stalls and the fish from the sea and from the river.

A workshop on carnival activities awaits this Saturday, 9 February. Children and adults alike are invited to design their own schooling fish with silvery scales and colourful gills, as part of the bigger school of fish.

What type of fish would you rather be? A swordfish or a clownfish?

The workshop "Peixes há muitos" [There are a lot of fish] starts at 3 pm and entrance is free.

This event is held under the Saturdays at the Market initiative.

Carnival is a Western Christian and Greek Orthodox festive season that occurs before the liturgical season of Lent. The main events typically occur during February or early March, period historically known as Pre-Lent. This season involves public celebrations, namely extravagant parades, colourful costumes and other entertainments.
