Casa da Música (CdM) marks Easter at Sala Suggia with two concerts; "Ressurrection" by Mahler, features March 20, at 7.30 pm and "Salve Regina" with pieces by Händel and Bach on March 28, at 9 pm.

Easter, also called Pascha (Greek, Latin) is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion.

Under the musical direction of Peter Rundel, the programme features Remix Ensemble and the Choir of Casa da Música, as well as soprano Sarah Wegener and Mezzo-soprano Louise Callinan.

Soprano Marie Lys, one of the emerging singers of the European scene of lyrical singing, will be on stage at CdM for the first time ever.

The winner of the Vincenzo Bellini Belcanto International Competition (2017) and the Göttinger Reihe Historischer (2015) will perform a set of cantatas that comprise Bach's passion of Christ and the poignant piece "Salve Regina" by Händel.

Directed by Laurence Cummings, harpsichord and reputed performer of Händel, this is a concert by Baroque Orchestra of Casa da Música.
