Christmas tree wrapped in blue and gold to celebrate the Season in Porto at Aliados on 1 December

On 1 December, the city of Porto will be officially wishing Merry Xmas to everyone visiting the city, with two million LED bulbs that will enliven 59 squares and streets, gardens and buildings all over town.

You do not want to miss the special moment on 1 December, in Aliados at 6 pm, to watch the tree lighting ceremony or to simply gaze upon the fireworks and enjoy the concert that follows, making the Aliados the epicentre of Porto city's Xmas.

The more than 29 thousand twinkling lights on the Xmas tree, reaching 40 metres high with 20 cm diameter this year, together with the Saint Dominic's Gospel Choir will be caroling in the streets to everyone in the city of Porto, as of 6.30 pm.

Also, on the 1 December, two artificial ice-rinks open for fun and joy at D. João I Square and at Boavista Roundabout (in Fantasy Square). On opening day, access to the ice-rinks is free from 8 pm till closing time.
