ClimateLaunchpad: UPTEC awards Green Business Ideas Competition in Portugal

The University of Porto Science and Technology Park (UPTEC) and the Portuguese Innovation Society (SPI) are the national leads for ClimateLaunchpad in Portugal.

ClimateLaunchpad is the world's largest competition aimed at discovering the next big green idea. It works as a platform for boosting both innovation and invention towards a cleaner future. 

This programme, sponsored by the European Union, has been established in 35 countries to help developing ideas into startups and thus going global in terms of impact.

The best project ideas will be awarded above 15 thousand euros, and the winner will receive a prize of €10,000 (ten thousand Euros).

All selected projects to join ClimateLaunchpad, will have access to coaching sessions that will help develop ideas to rock-solid plans. 

Anyone with an eco-friendly idea is most welcome to join in the competition. 

The 2017 ClimateLaunchpad national final will take place on June 22 at UPTEC. The international final will happen this year in Cyprus on 17 and 18 October. 

Applications are open until May 7.

In 2017 the competition is open to participants based in Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom (England: Birmingham & London), and Ukraine.
