The fifth AtlaS.WH - World Heritage Sites in the Atlantic Area - runs on a virtual format from 3 to 4 November. Porto is the leading city of the partnership that features Bordeaux, Edinburg, Florence and Santiago de Compostela, as well.

This event is themed "World Heritage: 2 words about sustainability" and it includes five conferences, open to the general public, which will be streamed digitally. The goal of the event is to present the work regarding the new Management and Sustainability Plans for each world heritage site, and the several activities that have been carried out thus far under the AtlaS. Heritage in the Atlantic Area: Sustainability of the Urban World Heritage, project, funded by the INTERREG - Atlantic Area programme.

The "AtlaS-WH" event looks at creating a network of the Atlantic Area historic Heritage Sites, which includes the Historical Centre of Porto, Luiz I Bridge and Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar; also, Ciudad Histórica de Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain); Bordeaux, Le Port de la Lune (France) as well; the Centro Storico di Firenze (Florence, Italy); and The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh (Edinburgh, Scotland).

Those interested in participating in this event, namely the public conferences, must access via the following hyperlink: https://event.voiceboxer.com/event/adigcu/login. The official language of the event is English, but there will be simultaneous interpretation to French.

The AtlaS.WH, co-financed by INTERREG - Atlantic Area programme was recently highlighted in the newsletter "World Heritage Cities Programme - Urban Notebooks", by UNESCO as regards the sharing of information and best practices in cultural management at world level.

The global purpose of such study is to design tailored sustainability plans of each WHS, by means of an integrated and participative management and monitoring model, based on the common know-how and good practices.
