The Palace Viscondes de Balsemão features the collective exhibit "12 Apostles" starting on 13 January.

This exhibit showcases art work in the feminine and its fundamental goal is to inform about the work of twelve women artists. The opening starts at 3.15 pm.

This initiative is organised by XX Element Project - Cultural Association, and it includes works by Beatriz Catita, Carla Castilho, Inês Peres, Joana Fraga, Joana Magalhães, Maria Sousa, Mariana Baldaia, Natália Rodrigues, Patrícia Guerra, Rachel Caiano, Raquel Felgueiras and Sílvia Patrício.

The result is an "eclectic art show" that raises awareness on the need for deeper debate and research on gender equality, responsibilities and opportunities for women in the field of culture.

The issue of equal rights is presented through 12 individual artists, who work in the areas of mixed technique, painting, sculpture, digital art, installation and photography.

It should be spotlighted that XX Element Project - Cultural Association was established with the purpose of fostering equal participation, access and contribution to cultural life of women and men, with a special focus on freedom of expression for women.

This association will organise the first international film festival on the role of women in the field of culture, the PORTO FEMME, which will take place in May this year.

This exhibit is entrance free and it will be on show till 3 February. It can be toured from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 5.30 pm and on Saturdays from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
