Electronic literature (e-lit) refers to literary works that encompass the advantages of digital context and that are exclusively created on and for digital devices.

The 2017 edition of Electronic Literature Organization presents conferences, a festival and exhibits under the theme "Electronic literature: affiliations, communities and translations", in such venues as Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão, the São Bento da Vitória Monastery and espaço Maus Hábitos/Saco Azul in Passos Manuel.

"Affiliations - Remix and Intervene: Computing Sound and Visual Poetry" is the exhibit presented in the scope of the Electronic Literature Organization and it is on display at Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão, at Carlos Alberto Square. It is organised by University Fernando Pessoa.

Visiting the exhibition is one of the best ways to understand what "Electronic Literature" is.

The field of electronic literature is constantly evolving and, at present, works produced not only migrate from print to electronic media but are increasingly "digital born", created explicitly for the networked computer.

The ELO seeks to make literary workings and the procedure aspects of this network more visible.

The programme runs until Saturday. See here for more information.
