In 2017, the Awards ceremony will take place in Porto on the 27th of May, under the theme ""Celebrating Creative Excellence".  It will be preceded by a string of enthralling events. More details on the subject will soon be disclosed.

Each year, since 2007, the European Design Awards celebrate excellence in the fields of print, web and exhibition design, illustration, packaging, mobile apps and motion graphics.

The most prestigious and comprehensive awards are recognised and promoted by a jury consisting of publishers, journalists, editors and academics.

Awards recognise and reward efforts, differentiate quality of achievements and grant visibility. This competition, open to Europe-based communication design agencies, studios and freelancers, speaks volumes about quality achievements.

The ED-Awards are unique in their field, acknowledging the best of graphic design, illustration and digital design in the European continent.

ED-Awards receive the widest publicity in the design awards field, as they are based on a network of design media, and their most qualified jury is made up by representatives of the most important print and digital design publications in Europe.

This year's edition includes jurors such as Bettina Schulz (Germany) editor-in-chief of novum, design journalist Camilla Buch (Sweden), John Walters (UK) editor and co-owner (with Simon Esterson) of Eye magazine, Geir A. Skomsøy (Norway) brand specialist, Hörður Lárusson (Iceland) Director of the Art Department at Brandenburg Advertising Agency, Floor van Essen (The Netherlands) editor of Dude, Dutch Designers Magazine, Davide Fornari (Italy), associate professor (HES) at ECAL University of Art and Design in Lausanne, Eduardo Bravo (Spain), journalist and writer in areas related with creativity, advertising, illustration and graphic design, Peter Bankov (Russia), founder and creative director of Design Depot and Thierry Hausermann (Switzerland), graphic designer, editor, writer, and founder of IDPURE magazine.

This year's Awards Ceremony will take place in Porto, May 2017. Porto is Europe's Best Destination 2017.

The city unfolds along the river Douro banks and the Atlantic shore.  Colourful esplanades and impressive vistas, framed by an authentic sense of place are bound to make this 10th Edition of ED-Awards the best ever.

The brand "Porto." was awarded in the 2015 edition of the ED Awards with the gold award in the category of brand implementation, and with the Best Work of the Year award in all "Best of Show" categories.
