Everyone is invited to celebrate National Day of Historic Centres in Porto

Porto celebrates the National Day of Historic Centres on 30 March, and the festivities feature a full programme ranging from workshops, artwork on tiles, theatre performances to Pedy paper, visit to museums and the screening of films.

Although the National Day of Historic City Centres is officially marked on March 28, the city of Porto celebrates its heritage on the closest Saturday to the date of this event to get more people involved and interested on the city historic centre and assets.

On 30 March, people will have the opportunity to get to know the cultural patrimony of the city as well as its fantastic history. This event is jointly organised by the National Association of the Municipalities of the Historic Centre and the Municipality.

The festivities begin at 8am and conclude at 10pm. All activities are free, but some require prior registration.

Everyone is invited to take part, residents, visitors to the city, domestic or foreigners and tourists.

Porto Historic Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996.
