Expect no less than a sea of emotions at Port of Leixões Cruise Terminal

Take time to visit this unique photographic account of the oil terminal in Leixões, which has disembarked more than 155 million tons of liquid bulk and mooring services of 9 thousand seagoing ships. It is on show till 31st December.

The Cruise Terminal of the Port of Leixões hosts a phot exhibition on the sea to mark its 50th anniversary and to raise awareness on the importance of oceans: the result is a display on "all things sea" highlighting the importance of the ocean that unites Continental Portugal, Azores, Spain, Brazil, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

The exhibit premiered on 22nd November and will be on show till 31st December. It is organised by the APDL -Management of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Ports, Galp and the magazine Visão.

The theme of this exhibition is "the sea that unites us" can be visited every Sunday morning, from 9.30am till 12 o'clock, upon prior booking via the email cruise.porto@apdl.pt.

Leixões is one of Portugal's major seaports, located 4 km north of the Douro River, in Matosinhos municipality, near the city of Porto. It is of great importance not only for export but also to import operations.

The Leixões Port plays a predominant role in the country, as well, especially regarding energy supply in the North of Portugal.

Recently the access to the terminal was improved as well as the operation of the container terminal, enabling larger container ships to enter the port and berth at the terminal. It involves overall investment of EUR 320 million and completion is scheduled for 2025.
