The Latin American filmmaker Lucrecia Martel gives an exclusive masterclass at the School of Arts, in the Católica University on 2nd May.


Lucrecia Martel will reveal aspects of her latest film, titled "Zama" in an entrance free class, scheduled for 4 pm.

It took Lucrecia Martel almost tem years to produce this film, where she explores the Latin American identity.

Based on the novel by Antonio Di Benedetto written in 1956, on Don Diego de Zama, this film premiered in 2017 in Argentina.

The Latin American filmmaker, considered one of the most important voices in independent art cinema, will deliver this important masterclass on cinema and will also mark the launch of the new School of Arts, which includes the Porto Summer School on Cinematic Art (from 18 to 23 June) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Cinematic Art, available the next school year.

This event is held in partnership with the independent producer "The Sound and the Fury" that participated in Martel's film "Zama", which will be previewed at Trindade cinema.
