First confirmations for Vivarium Festival in Porto

The Festival Vivarium is scheduled for 28 and 29 March at Maus Hábitos, to inspire debate on the similarities and differences between natural and artificial intelligence.

The festival features the national premiere of Tim Hecker, who will perform his first solo concert, the thereminist Elizabeth Brown, who combines a composing career with a diverse performing life and whose chamber music has been named luminous, dreamlike and hallucinatory. Also, Proc Fiskal, Edinburgh-based producer featuring his interpretation of grime.

The Vivarium is based on a multidisciplinary approach, embracing the areas of music, performance, interactive dancing, visual arts and new media and thought. During three days, for and for the first time, the full-schedule festival will encompass different places in town, including Passos Manuel, Ateneu Comercial and Rectory of the University of Porto, and, as usual, the host place, Maus Hábitos.

Moreover, the programming presents Jung in Jung, Poetic Corner(s), to draw on the rapport body and sound.

Dancer and coreagrapher, Nun on the Moonde Dasniya Sommer, a premiere on the ancient art of shibari (Japanese bondage).

Also, to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Maus Hábitos, there will be a showcase of a collective exhibition on the photo archive of Maus Hábitos, regarding the last ten years of activity, of work by Antoine d'Agata, Justine Emard, Daniel Pires and Isaque Pinheiro.

The Vivarium Festival full programming will be announced at the end of February.
