First TEDxWomen builds bridges of understanding

The first TEDxWomen in Porto will be held 4 November afternoon, at the Ilídio Pinho Auditorium in the Portuguese Catholic University.

The event gathers creative thinkers who "encourage turning ideas into concrete action", by fostering the community intervention, as spotlight by the organisation.

Cláudia Morgado, Chief Operating Officer of a software company in the health care area, Navvab Aly, founder of the platform "Crespas & Cacheadas Poderosas", or the architect Nour Machlah, survival of the war in Syria that came to Portugal to study, are already confirmed speakers.

Parallel live performances and guest interventions will be supplemented by TED talks' videos from the main event, the TEDWomen, which will take place in New Orleans between 1 and 3 November.

The topic of this TEDxWomen is "Bridges" and it aims to set up ways of bringing people together to meet and to exchange experiences, opinions and values", promoting the sharing of experiences and ideas, especially for the female population.

This initiative is organised by TEDxPorto. Participation in the TEDxWomen costs €20, and it ensures access to the entire event and also coffee break.
