Free entrance at Lello Bookstore to celebrate 113th anniversary

Lello Bookstore, renowned as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, has a full schedule of events today to celebrate its 113th anniversary. Entrance fees will be waived. Cinema, gifts, exhibits, round-tables and Fado await you on this anniversary day.

Programmed activities are scheduled to begin at noon with first visitors being gifted facsimile editions of the first Portuguese newspaper, aptly called "Gazeta da Restauração" (1641).

The celebration also includes the screening of the first Portuguese sound film, "A Severa", curated by the University of Aveiro, starting at 4 pm.

There will be two round-tables to discuss "O Porto, o Fado e Outras Músicas", at 4.30 pm, and Camões and "Os Lusíadas" at 6 pm.

To conclude the celebration, Fado singer Patrícia Costa will perform at Lello Bookstore around 6.30 pm.
