The President of the French corporate and investment bank, Natixis, Laurent Mignon, declared to Portuguese weekly publication Expresso that he couldn't be happier with the relocation of part of its group to Porto.

The decision to establish the city of Porto as the Centre of Excellence for Natixis was based on the talented and well-educated people that Porto has to offer as well as on the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship that spurs in that northern region.

Natixis, the second-largest banking group in France, started operating in Porto one year ago, and has hired over 300 people. The goal is to reach 600 employees by the end of 2019, according to official sources.

The President of Natixis also spotlighted that they have found talent in Porto, highly skilled and dedicated professionals, graduated by Universities and Institutes greatly qualified in Science and technology, and able to speak a lot of languages, which Natixis couldn't find in France.

The whole Oporto Centre building was leased to the French multinational corporation and the entire operation represents an investment around 23.5 million euros.

As with any major operation, the relocation of the IT Centre of Excellence required major studies and Portugal stood out as an excellent choice due to its favourable economic environment for foreign investment and important language skills.

Laurent Mignon also enhanced the proximity of Porto to the bank's headquarters, in Paris, and, more specifically, the high level of qualified individuals.

Recruitment needs at Natixis include IT, business development, business intelligence, quality control, software testing, infrastructure and safety.
