The new fun zones that settled in Porto in the end of May, are now able to extend their opening hours as the government has advanced the date of the new stage in lockdown easing measures. The Fun Parks, established at the Rotunda da Boavista, Jardim do Calém and Fontainhas, can operate for more hours during the day. Operating hours are from 12 noon to 11 pm, from Sunday to Thursday and from 12 noon to 12 midnight, on Fridays and Saturdays. On St. John’s Eve, and upon request by the promotors themselves, the Fun Parks close doors at 6 pm.

Business people of the travelling entertainment sector requested extension of operating hours to the City Hall in the three Fun Parks, as the government easing lockdown measures have been advanced. The entertainment equipment at the Rotunda da Boavista and the Jardim do Calém will remain in place until 18 July, following a request by the representatives of all three associations of the sector to the Mayor, Rui Moreira.

As the new timetable was accepted, a larger number of people will also be able to access the Fun Parks, always with the assurance of maximum safety, and in compliance with the health safety measures issued by the DGS, as regards measuring body temperature, space capacity, policing the area, systematic cleaning of equipment, hand sanitation and mandatory use of face masks. Every day, last entries are possible until 30 minutes prior to the closing time.

This extension of the operating hours represents a municipal support enhancement of circa 67 thousand euros, and it is related to fee and license exemption, policing and electric infrastructure.
