The most known urban sketchers will meet, for the first time, in the city of Porto between 18 and 21 next July.

These urban artists draw the cities they visit, and capture the urban liveliness on location, not by photo nor by memory. So, "one drawing at a time" these sketchers literally draw attention on several topics regarding a city, from urban landscape to city culture.

This is the 9th edition of the Urban Sketchers International Symposium, attended by 36 instructors of different nationalities, including Portuguese sketchers João Catarino, José Louro and Pedro Loureiro.

The logo of the meeting is the Clérigos Tower in apparent curiosity to take a peek at the sketcher's work, created by Isa Silva, a Portuguese sketcher who has won out of 24 competitor from all around the globe.

This event is targeted to sketchers of all levels, experience, and backgrounds, and its main goal is to celebrate and practice the art of on-location sketching in the city of Porto.

Applications are now open and the organisation is also seeking for sketchers who will work as "reporters", with the mission of drawing the events of the day, which will have its operation centre at Porto Customs Building.
