The conference centre at Porto Customs House plays host to the 10th Prize-giving ceremony of the Green Project Awards (GPA), on 12 January. This event will be carried out at the same time as the V GPA'17 Conference devoted to the topic "Citizenship and the Future of Sustainability".

The GPA is a joint organisation by Porto City Hall and Lipor. As a multi-sector platform that promotes good practice and the public discussion on sustainability, GPA will reward the national entities that excel at developing the best sustainable solutions in Portugal.

This year, out of the 140 applications for the Green Project Awards, 74 projects have been selected as finalist projects.

The following categories of prizes will be awarded: Agriculture, Cities and Sustainable Mobility, Efficient Management of Resources, Industry 4.0 - Digital Transformation, Youth Initiative, Mobilisation Initiative, Research and Development, Sea and Tourism.

A novelty this year are the awards ANI/GPA - Born From Knowledge and the Important Career Achievement Award for Sustainability.

This event runs at the same time as the V GPA'17 Conference that features Yoko Ishikura as a Keynote speaker. Ishikura is Emeritus Professor in the University of Hitotsubashi and currently works as an independent consultant in the field of global strategy, competitiveness, and talent management.

Also speaking at the conference, Brazilian Roberto Pires Ferreira, Partner and Chief Sustainability Officer at Peppery Publicity will address the topic "Challenges and opportunities for the Economy and the Environment".

Both the ceremony and the conference are free but registration is mandatory.
