ICPC gathers the best college students in Porto

The 2019 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is taking place in Porto. It kicked-off on 31 March and runs till 6 April.
For six full days, the Invicta will be the capital of technology and innovation as the University of Porto will play host to the final, which will happen on 4 April.  

An estimated 1500 students from all over the globe will fight for the title of Programming World Champions at the Invicta and a team of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) is among them; students Gonçalo Paredes, Ricardo Pereira and Alberto Pacheco, with coach Pedro Ribeiro, of the Computer Science Department, is the Portuguese team that competes for the title in these world finals as they have won the bronze medal in one of the regional "playoffs" in Paris.

The University of Porto plays host to the final, which will happen on 4 April.

The competition is organised by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), and the activities programme features the 2019 National Computer Olympics, a hackathon, meetings that will bring together companies and young entrepreneurs, conferences on the future of technology, as well as debates on the digital Single Market. These are but some of the events taking place at Porto Customs and at Porto Innovation Hub.
