In Spiritum 2018 Festival brings together music and heritage in Porto in May

In Spiritum 2018 Festival makes Porto a city of music and heritage. From 19th to 23rd May, early music will link heritage and audiences across the city of Porto.

The Spiritum Festival connects Porto's Historic Centre, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, with early music to champion "the unique ambience of each space", with "a varied musical programme, both in style and time period".

This music journey is indeed a networker of people and sounds in incredible stages across Porto's unique tradition.

The festival features musicians Jordi Savall, the Castilian is an important figure when it comes to rediscovering early music, and the American Jed Barahal, living in Porto, who will play the cello that belonged to Guilhermina Suggia to perform Bach's music.

This year's edition consists of seven concerts and recitals till 23rd May, taking place in some of the most iconic sites in Porto working as a platform to linking people and heritage trough music.

The festival is jointly produced by Porto City Hall and the Cultural Association InSpiritum, under the sponsorship of the Presidency of the Republic.

It is four years since the first edition of this festival that features classical music concerts and recitals, presenting both young and renowned artists was established.

Each concert fits the space in which it is performed thus enabling a particular and exceptional fruition as well as an inner well-being.

Tickets can be purchased online and the price ranges from €12, 50 and €20. There is also a general pass for all the seven concerts at €85.
