Thirty students and five teachers from the Italian city of Fano (Le Marche region, Pesaro and Urbino province, on the Adriatic coast) are visiting Porto until the end of the month. This initiative is part of a project organised by the Italian Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Escola Profissional Raul Dória vocational school.

The aim of the Italian students (aged between 16 and 18) is to take an internship to work on dynamics in the tourism, graphic design and aeronautics areas.

The Councillor for Education welcomed the delegation to the City Hall, giving them a brief tour of the building's most emblematic areas, alluding to the city's history. 'Acknowledging the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for personal development, we promote and welcome student exchanges in Porto with great enthusiasm, valuing multiculturalism and enriching the learning of each individual', Fernando Paulo underlined.

'Porto is an open city, proudly established as an Educating City, liaising with its surroundings, but also with cities in other countries with the aim of learning, exchanging, sharing and, consequently, enriching the lives of Porto's residents. Each of these experiences contributes to building a more inclusive city', he added.
