The end date of the 11th edition of the Italian Cinema celebration is April 8 at the Rivoli, starting at 6 pm with the screening of the film "The Postman" by Michael Radford (1994), based on the book "Il Postino" by Antonio Skármeta.

This classical work of the Italian Film Industry tells the story of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, when in exile in the Italian island Isla Negra, and his relationship with a humble postman who yearns to learn how to write poetry. He wishes to conquer the love of his life, Beatrice.

The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (Michael Radford) and Best Actor in a Leading Role.

Writer/star Massimo Troisi, already enfeebled by a heart condition, suffered a fatal heart attack the day after the film was completed.
