Join Porto Porta-Jazz for a fully fledge concert

Transcendent and profound are words that suit perfectly the Porta-Jazz event that is back in Porto in July and August. The event is organised in the outdoor concert format that needs prior reservation. Performances kick off at 7pm.

Following a shutdown period due to the current pandemic, the 10 year-old event Porta-Jazz event resumes its weekly concert agenda, now in an outdoor format, complying with all safety measures issued by health authorities.

The new stage "Quintal Porta-Jazz", aka "Porta-Jazz backyard", brings to town eight concerts with Portuguese and foreign artists, and this weekend, on 26th July, it is time for Eurico Costa Trio, featuring Eurico Costa, guitar player from Porto, Demian Cabaud, on the double bass and Marcos Cavaleiro, on the drums.

Eurico Costa is a guitar player from Porto, who concluded the Classic Guitar course in 2002 at the Porto Music Conservatory. That same year, Costa studied Jazz with Nuno Ferreira, Afonso Pais, Carlos Azevedo and Pedro Guedes, just to mention a few.

 He has participated in several workshops and masterclasses with relevant names in the Jazz scene as José Pina, Richie Beirach, Cecil Bridgewater, Frank Mobüs, Stan LaFerrierre, Chris Cheek, André Fernandes, Bill McHenry, Peter Erskine, Mark Turner, Aaron Goldberg, Jonathan Kreisberg, Matt Wilson and Andrew d'Angelo.

Currently, Eurico Costa teaches Jazz guitar at and he is also a founding member of the Associação Porta-Jazz.

Porta-Jazz Festival is a key part of the cultural scene in the city of Porto, and it is also an important reference for jazz in Portugal.

In compliance with the preventive measures under the ongoing pandemic, occupancy is limited and prior reservations is mandatory.
