Meeting of Young Researchers of the U. Porto gathers more than 850 participants

More than 865 students will participate in the 11th edition of the Meeting of Young Researchers of the U. Porto that will run from 7 to 9 February at the Centre for Medical Research of the Faculty of Medicine of Porto University.

This event is sponsored by Santander Universidades, and its main goal is to bring to light new talents among science students. There will be 251 oral presentations and 163 poster presentations in the fields of health, engineering, architecture, art, culture, economy, history, and psychology.

During the three-day event, students will be challenged to demonstrate the value of their research projects, divided by 44 parallel sessions, which are organised according to scientific fields as health sciences, biological sciences, chemistry, engineering and sports science.

All 414 selected projects were reviewed by a scientific commission made up of prominent professors and researchers from the fourteen faculties that comprise the University of Porto and from the Research Centres as well, including REQUIMTE, CIIMAR and i3S (IBMC; INEB; IPATIMUP).

The communication language of the Meeting is English, and each presentation takes up to a maximum of 10 minutes each, after which there will be a global debate on the issues covered.
