For the fourth consecutive year, public transport will run all night long on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 June until 1 October. Good weather invites to longer outings and so it is mandatory, according to Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, to ensure good mobility, safety and comfort in the city.

The MOVE PORTO - METRO 24H initiative is implemented in Porto as a result of a joint partnership between Porto City Hall, STCP (bus network) and Metro do Porto and it provides around the clock public transport on weekends regarding the D-line yellow, from São João Hospital to Santo Ovídio (Gaia), and the A-line blue, from Dragão Football Stadium and Senhora da Hora (Matosinhos), every twenty minutes.

The bus network - STCP- also extends its offer in the early hours in the morning.

The Mayor of Porto emphasised the "growing sustainability" of this extended service and reaffirmed the municipality's commitment with security, in particular in the metro stations, and stated that the City Hall of Porto will continue to invest in this area.

Rui Moreira said that the MOVE focus on mobility as it major purpose. With this extended public transport service, citizens are allowed to rely on eco-friendly means of transport, thus reducing the number of vehicles on the streets.
