Paid car parks and municipal car parks reopening in Porto

Porto City Hall will reopen paid car parks above the ground and municipal car parks next Monday, 11th May. This action will be phased and there is a defined timetable already in place. Know more HERE.

In line with the phased reopening of the economy, the also phased opening of paid car parks above the ground will enable the Municipality to appropriately prepare the beginning of parking management operations.

The end of the lockdown means that business sectors start opening again and that this reopening is phased. Small business are back in business and parking conditions are adamant for business sustainability, namely street commerce.

The Municipality of Porto established the following timetable for the reopening municipal car parks and parking spaces at surface level (ZEDL), namely the implementation of previously defined contingency plans, and disinfection actions to all spaces and equipment.

Starting Monday, 11th May all municipal parking areas or parking spaces that are managed by the municipal company Ágora will reopen to the public, namely the Parking of Trindade, Alfândega, Silo Auto, Palácio de Cristal and Poveiros.

Afterwards, on 18th May, the supervision action will start in the central part of the city, where street commerce is more prevalent. The municipal park of Duque de Loulé, where repaving work is ongoing will reopen as well as the Funicular dos Guindais.

On 25th May, there will be the reopening of zone II and finally, on 1st June, the residential and services zones II and IV.

All relevant information on paid parking in Porto is provided in parking meters, which will be connected on specified days and dates.

Methods of payment are the already existing apps - Telpark and Via Verde - which will be adjusted to the phased reopening plan, defined by the Municipality.
