PROMKA is the name of the industrial area of the city of Avdeevka, in the Donetsk region, it is an area of intense fighting in the armed conflict between Ukrainian forces and Russian Separatists, which started in the end of 2013.

"PROMKA" is also the name of the photographic exhibition from Ukrainian war reporter Lesko Kromplitz, whose world tour comprises, besides Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, England and, since yesterday, the Municipal Library Almeida Garrett.

There are many war stories to unveil in this photo exhibit, a war fought so far away that it "feels" it has ended. For two weeks, people will have the chance to know not only the horror stories but also the human feelings of those who are still living amidst the violence and whose lives will not go undamaged.

The opening of the Photographic exhibition was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Portugal. Lesko Kromplitz sent a video statement.

"PROMKA" can be visited at Biblioteca Municipal Almeida Garrett (Palácio de Cristal) until July 15, in the normal opening hours of the Library. The exhibition will then be showcased in Lisbon and in Brazil.
