Porto Blues Fest brings New Orleans to the Invicta, on 17 and 18 May. Tickets are available in the usual places.
The Gardens of the Palácio de Cristal, in Porto, host the third edition of Porto Blues Fest, and this year the festival is all about New Orleans, home of the Blues, renowned for its frantic street entertainment.

The city of New Orleans is eccentric if nothing else and the city's motto really says it all "let the good times roll".

Henrik Freischlader kicks off the first day of the festival, taking to the stage his blues rock at 10pm. The evening concludes with Juwana Jenkins, author, composer and singer, who mixes the soul of the sixties with Motown and Sax sounds, as well as modern blues.

On 18 May, the rock blues are on with "the King of feel", name that Robert Plant gave to Gwyn Ashton, Welsh guitar player, author and singer, living in Australia.

The event concludes with a tribute concert to Wolfram Minnemann, a German pianist and singer who lives in Porto since 1973.

Adding to the party, chef Chakall will offer a gastronomy experience that links both the concerts and the tastes of New Orleans.

Tickets are available for sale online and in the usual places. Price tickets range from 20 euros (one day) and 30 euros (two-day ticket).
