Porto Municipal Theatre season launch is one to watch on 8th September

The Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP) resumes its activity on 17th September, six months after the lockdown due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, as early as 8th September, the 2020/2021 season is officially presented at the Grand auditorium of Theatre Rivoli, at 7pm. 

We are just one week away from Porto Municipal Theatre 2020/2021 season launch, under the motto "Retomar Ligação" ("Resuming Connection", free translation), scheduled for 8th September, at 7pm, at the Rivoli Theatre. This time, the season launch takes on a multi-channel format, with the session being streamed live by the Rádio Nova (98.9 FM) and also on TMP social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), as the Grande Auditório Manoel de Oliveira room capacity is limited to 50 per cent.

Know that Porto Municipal Theatre 2020/2021 season highlights dance as the programme main driver, with particular reference to renowned national and international dancers as Marlene Monteiro Freitas and Jérôme Bel.

In addition, the Municipal Theatre of Porto provides subscriptions for six dance performances for this season, aka Assinatura 6, which costs 40 euros and is available till 25th September, granting entrance to the following dance shows: OCD Love*, Mal - Embriaguez Divina, For four walls + RainForest + Sounddance, Canzone per Ornella + Postcards from Vietnam, The show must go on, Chronicle + A Mesa Verde.

The Assinatura 6 can be purchased at the ticket office of Theatre Rivoli and Theatre Campo Alegre (they are opened as of 1st September) or at the BOL.

*Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Israeli company L-E-V Sharon Eyal | Gai Behar, scheduled to present "OCD Love", on 25th and 26th September, at #TeatroRivoli, has been cancelled.

The viewers that had purchased tickets for this show, must head to the ticket office at Rivoli and Campo Alegre and take charge of reimbursing or redeeming the ticket to another show. In turn, viewers that have purchased the Assinatura 6 (with six dance shows for the 2020 - 2021 season #TMP, "OCD Love" included) must, as well, head to the ticket offices of Teatro Municipal do Porto, as of 8th September (day of the official season launch of TMP) and until 25th September and choose another show of the season to complete the Assinatura 6.

It is necessary to previously collect the ticket for the season launch session, which is available here (max two tickets per person).

Access rules to the Teatro Rivoli:

- Doors to access the Grande Auditório open at 6.30pm, and the audience gradually enters the room upon presentation of the ticket (that must be previously collected);

- Use of face masks is mandatory inside the premises;

- Keep social distancing inside the Theatre and while accessing the room;

- At the end of the presentation, wait for the guidelines by the meeting room assistants that will coordinate exit.
