The prominent issue of the International Conference to be held in Porto this Wednesday, March 21, is Circular Economy. European Officials will attend this event, where the city of Porto will take the opportunity to show its strategy for the sustainable development of the so called circular economy.

Adopting a circular model of economy means renewing by design, relying on innovation, redefining products and services to design waste out, while lessening adverse effects.

The Conference "Regions, Cities and Organizations Promoting Circular Economy", is organised by Lipor and ACR+, with the support of Smart Waste Portugal, in the context of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), in line with the United Nations New Development Agenda.

The event takes place at the EDP Auditorium, and will rely on the participation of both national and international experts and policy makers, who will debate on how to transition from waste management to resource management.

The vice Mayor of Porto and in charge of Environment and Innovation is a keynote speaker, addressing Circular Economy in Europe (and Cities).

Supported by a transition towards renewable energy sources, the circular model builds economic, natural and social capital.
