Porto is a city attractive to investors and to talent

Since its inception, in 2015, InvestPorto has monitored the setting up of around 200 investment projects, likely to create 13.500 jobs in the city of Porto.

These figures show that Porto is indeed "the city that works" - and this is the signature of the Municipal Office that now takes a new guise, providing new services to cope with the emerging challenges of both the global and the local economy.

InvestPorto harness all the necessary resources and competencies in the city's investment area, providing two new services, namely the follow-up of business and projects, the Aftercare Service and the Talento Management Area.

Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, noted that "we are extending InvestPorto spectrum. The typical investment agency is not enough anymore, we need to go further".

The city of Porto has grown. It is present on the market with a fortified identity, one that did not exist some years back.

"In the beginning, we were known as Oporto, we had Port Wine, Port and the FC Porto which was Porto", Rui Moreira recalled.

There was a proliferation of brands, which did not represent the city brand per se. Rui Moreira said this was the beginning of the work strategy that led to the establishment of InvestPorto as "an army of important players, of interinstitutional cooperation at the same time the brand Porto. was being created".

"Now we are seeing the results, but it is essential that we are even more daring", emphasised the Mayor of Porto, who regards the newly created services of the "utmost importance" in order to cope with the impetus for investment in the city of Porto.

Rui Moreira also mentioned the international recognition of Porto as a favourable environment to start-ups and to business growth. And he also stated that more than the time to be proud, this is the time to take on the opportunities.

One thing is very clear, Rui Moreira enthused, "any investor visiting Porto sees Porto as a competitive, comfortable and interesting city".
