Porto is filled with camellia gardens these days

Camellias bloom at this time of year, signalling the coming of spring at the São Bento Metro Station, where the 24th Camellias Exhibition bloomed with vigour.

The stop at São Bento Metro Station is a warm-up of the "Porto, City of Camellias" exhibit passers-by got to know more about camellia species, a flower that is native to China, Japan and other parts of East Asia that made their way to the Western world in the 18th century.

The exhibit "Camellias in Town" featured ten wooden panels with graphic representations of different camellia species, set up in the main hall of the metro station by architect Siza Vieira and on display on 2 and 3 March.
