Porto received the Mid-Sized city award for FDI Strategy by the Financial Times in Cannes

Porto was awarded today in Cannes, by the fDi - Intelligence Magazine, a key publication in the financial area, at a ceremony held in the context of MIPIM - The world's leading property market that runs from 13 to 16 March 2018 at the Palais des Festivals, in Cannes, France.

The city of Porto ranked 8th among the 10 Best in the FDI Strategy, in the Mid-Sized European Cities of the Future 2018/19 and Councilman for Economy, Tourism and Trade, Ricardo Valente, received the award on behalf of the city.

This ranking is headed by Bordeaux (France), and Porto is ahead of cities such as Newcastle in the United Kingdom and Brno, in the Czech Republic.

For this award, fDi has assessed 489 regions and 301 cities, organising them around six major categories to build the European Cities of the Future Ranking.

The methodology developed and implemented used both qualitative and quantitative indicators to grouping infrastructure, cost efficiency, economic potential, labour market and FDI strategy.
